John Michael Montgomery: Lawsuit

John Michael Montgomery is the defendant in a lawsuit that accuses him of lying to the Lexington police department after his arrest on a drunk driving charge last year. According to the Lexington Herald Leader, former police officer Joshua Cromer, who filed the lawsuit on Monday, arrested the singer. He was later fired, in part for postings on his MySpace page that included a picture of Montgomery posing next to a fan with the officer's face superimposed over the fan's. Cromer says Montgomery falsely accused him of stealing his cowboy hat during the arrest, that he was targeted because he's a celebrity and that Cromer had improper motives and acted inappropriately during the arrest. Cromer is appealing his termination.
