While autopsy reports have so far been inconclusive in the death of Heath Ledger, no illegal drugs were found in his apartment, according to the New York City police commissioner. But Commissioner Ray Kelly admitted that a rolled-up 20-dollar bill was found near the actor's body in his apartment. Last night, police revealed that they'd tested the bill, and it was clean of drug residue. Prescribed bottles of the anti-anxiety drugs Valium and Xanax were among six different prescription mediations reportedly found in the apartment. It's expected to take 10 days to complete the toxicology report into exactly what killed the 28-year-old.
The Australian actor's death led President Bush to hastily postpone an event that was to launch an ad campaign aimed at preventing prescription drug abuse yesterday at the White House. The White House press secretary said the event was postponed so nobody would think"we were being opportunistic in highlighting the issue."
