The Most confusing thing ever

So here at Entercom, they ask us to blog. It help keeps everyone in the loop for our lives. A little intrusive sure, but it comes with the job. Here is my problem. Sharing my stories doesn't bother me, telling you about my personal life and drama, no big deal. The biggest problem is I cant! Sort of...

See we have this web service, Vortal 3.0 (don't let the number fool you, it's not fancy) and it may be the most difficult thing to figure out! Honestly, I should go back to college and get my degree in computer engineering, because that is the only way this website will make sense. Maybe I'm being a bit too harsh on the system. Maybe it's not difficult to master, but instead, maybe it just doesn't work at all! For example, you want to post a picture? Good luck! It will either be bigger the the monitor, smaller than a quarter, and off to the far end of the screen, and cut off, or just not there at all!

How about sharing a youtube video? Forget it! Unless you are ok with copying the link and then pasting it yourself, then yea, sure it works! What I really can't understand it that we HAD a service that worked flawlessly five years ago! It made blogging easy, dare I even say....fun? No, I wont say fun, because blogging feels like a homework assignment, forced up me, but it would definitely be easier!

As I'm typing this I just discovered that, my spelling has not been perfect, no I'm not some brain child, but simply, this program doesn't even support the little red squiggly line that lets you know you have spelling errors. (Note: I'm writing this after I finished this monstrosity, and figured out, you need to enable SCAYT, or as anyone else knows it the red squiggly line. Why is this not enabled from the start?!)

By now I have made this program look like a piece of Swiss cheese, and I could probably make it look like dust, but by this point, you have either stopped reading, or got the point that this program is trash. Maybe in 5 years we will switch to something that actually works.... but I'm not holding my breath.

Bring it back?

So recently I discovered a lost Brew Review in my basement while cleaning.  We shot it last year, and then I forgot about it, and the camera was packed away.  So when I uncovered the camera, I watched the video to see what was shot, and there it was!  Recently my good friend Matt, gave me a GIANT iMac computer, because he works on the oil rigs, and said he never uses it, and I would get more use out of it while he is gone, so he said you take it until I move into a house.  So I took this lost Brew Review upstairs and put together the newest Brew Review.

I recently got very busy at work with videos for other people so my projects had to take a back seat, but since posting the newest Brew Review, my phone has been blowing up with people asking me what happened to the Brew Review, and to bring it back and wanting to help me out with reviews.  So I guess I will be bringing the Brew Review back, and I will be looking for people to help me review beer!  Anyone want to help?   ~Crockett

Go Figure

So yesterday, my records FINALLY!  I couldn't wait to give them a listen.  Wouldn't you guess, as soon as I dropped that needle onto the record, the needle broke!  Now, I can't play my records, and I will have to spend $50+ to get a new one!   Just a run of bad luck so far!

Feel like I'm getting jerked around!

So I placed two orders for two very rare records on ebay, close to a month ago and still have not recieved them!  The first record is the Quiet Riot record you have heard me complain about.  Now this record is coming from Greece, so I could see it taking some time, but a MONTH? Come on!  I reched out to him and he assured me it is comming, I hope so!

The next record is the first Zombies Record.  They had the hits, "Shes not there" and "The time of the seasons".  This one I'm very concerned about, mostly becuase its and import and looks to be in bad shape,  Even worse, after I bought it, the guy sent me a message saying that, he was waiting on record boxes so that he could ship out my record, and sorry about the delay!

How about you give me free shipping then?  I mean, how are you a record store, and run out of boxes?    Unreal!

Road Construction?

Ok, I don't know who is trying to ruin my morning commute to work, but it has got to stop!  I have a morning ritual, almost like groundhogs day with Bill Murray, I wake up, same time, and do pretty much the same thing Monday - Friday.  Except, they have the road closed right before the station!

Problem is, they don't have a sign saying the construction is still going on.  So every morning, I assume they are finished with the road work, so I drive all the way up the road, only to find that the road is STILL under construction, and then I have to turn around and take the long way to work.  I have been late to work twice now, and its ruing my mojo here at work.

A simple sign is all I'm looking for, is that so much to ask?

Sometimes the best things are free.

You will usually see me wearing two things at all times.  Shorts and a hat.  My shorts, 90% of the time will be camo cargo shorts from American Eagle.  That's it, they are my favorite, and its what I love to wear.  The other 10% will be some sort of mesh shorts, like basketball shorts.  Any brand is fine, but when it comes to hats, thats a different story.

I'm very picky about the hats I wear.  I have a big head, and MASSIVE hair, so hats don't fit well, and I hate snap back hats.  I am; however a big fan on flexfit hats.  My buddies all tell me though, Flexfit hats are out of style, but I disagree.  They fit my bean just right!

Problem is, I can never find flexfit hats, unless you are buying in a massive lot (i.e.. a business order).  Well a few weeks ago, I was doing a live action broadcast for Bacardi Rum, when one of the representatives, asked me if I wanted a hat.  I said, sure, and wouldn't you know it, its black, flexfit and fits my head!

Now I wear this free swag everywhere, but hey, its comfortable and doesnt look half bad!

Chicken Wing Pasta!

So last night I became a visionary.  I made a meal I had never seen before.  Chicken wing Spaghetti.  It all started when I was suppose to start my diet Monday, but I left my gym bag at home, and when I go back home from work, I'm HOME.  So I figured minus well start the diet tomorrow, and make one last Hungry man meal.  A quick trip to Wal Mart and I was ready!

Here are the ingredients I went with:

I wanted to go with angel hair pasta, and THOUGHT I had a box at home, but I did not so this had to do.

After all ingredients were cooked up it was time to make some sauce.  Now the hot sauce/ Wing sauce (pictured above)  wasn't going to taste good by itself.  It was too watery, because it is made for wings, and not think pasta.  So I grabbed a bottle of Kraft Bleu Cheese and added two squirts to the sauce.  Now I made a small bowl first to get the consistency of sauce to bleu cheese correct.  I recommend you do the same to avoid ruining the whole box of pasta,  Once you get the sauce the way you like it.

Add some Boneless bites and mix them in.  That's it, you're finished.  To my surprise , it was awesome! Very filling, I could only eat on bowl.  Go ahead give it a try and mix up your dinner!  I'm currently working on a healthier version that I can eat for my diet!

School is back in session. Just remember to be kind to your teachers!

Back during my senior year of high school (2004), I was wrestling at 140 lbs.  Of course, I started at 155 lbs, and my coach asked if I could lose the 15 lbs. in a week, for our first meet, and then keep it off for the three months of the season.  I did, but at a painful price.

From the extreme weight loss I put my body through, my bladder and kidney had sealed shut.  I was dehydrating my body to make weight, so replenishing my body with water was not an option, and in result my kidney had swelled and was rubbing up against my hip.  I urinated blood for three months, which if you have never done, is extremely painful, and I would rather just hold it in then go, because of the pain.

The doctors told me I would have to have surgery, where they would cut a hole in my bladder and kidney and reconnect them with a small tube.  I chose to opt out of surgery until after the season, so they prescribe me Vicodin, to help with the pain.

I took one pill, and realized I hated the way Vicodin made me feel, so I decided to throw out the bottle, and just deal with it.  To ease the pain, I would just keep ice taped to my side, to "numb" the pain.  Every morning I would wake up at 5 am, run 2-5 miles, go home shower, tape ice to my hip, down five or six ibuprofen then head to school.  After school it was three hours of practice, head home, depending on what energy I had left, I may go for a run,  go to sleep, and repeat.  Fridays and Saturdays were wrestling meets and Sunday was lift days.

Of course all my teachers had an opinion on what I was doing, all of them being negative.  As if my body wasn't in enough pain, I had terrible cotton mouth, my lips were cracked and dry from not drinking water, and I was just mentally and physically exhausted.  The last thing I needed to hear every period, everyday for three months, was how terrible I looked.

I read the morning announcements for the high school before classes started, which were broadcasted in every classroom over the televisions, so I needed to be in school an hour earlier than everyone else.  One morning, as I was limping down the hall to head into the Television room, my biology teacher was walking towards me.

Mrs. Gwenn was her name and she was retiring after my senior year.  She was a short, brittle woman, with short blonde hair, and big wired frame glasses, who I never really had many exchanges with, besides me sitting in class, and struggling to understand the lesson (I was awful in biology).

As I'm getting ready to walk past her, she stopped me.  I guess I wasn't looking too great that morning, because when she stopped me, she let out a long sigh, and a large sad faced frown.  The face that your grandmother would make when you would trip, fall and scrap your leg.

I thought I was in for another lecture on how I should quit losing weight, and quit wrestling all together.  Instead, she gave me a hug, and told me she was proud of me, and what I sacrificing for the school.

I was caught off guard, and I started to tear up.  I was doing my best not to lose it right there in the hallway.  She then told me, she had a bag of lollipops in her desk, and that if I never needed one (they help when you have cotton mouth and can't produce spit) just ask. I said thank you and went on with my day.

I will never forget that small exchange we had that day, and how great it made me feel.  I'm not sure if Mrs. Gwenn knew the impact she had on me that day, but it has never left me.  With school starting back up, I hope the teenager/young adults aren't too hard on teachers and remember that they have tough days like the rest of us.
